Day 11

Natalee spent most of Saturday in recovery mode. As the day wore on she became more alert and was even watching TV when the family arrived to see her. She was in some pain (not surprisingly) and had a slight lung infection, but generally the outlook has been positive.

After the concerns of nerve damage in her leg, the surgeon came in on Friday to check her legs and when he asked her to move her knee she was able to! That is a miracle for they were sure she would have to relearn how to move her leg.

The family is hopeful that Natalee will be able to leave the ICU today and into a regular room. More updates later on...

I am so happy for you! I am really excited you will be able to move your leg again as i know you love soccer. I'm sorry your in pain-but then again who wouldn't after hours of surgery? I am glad you seem to be waking up and getting a little better...watching tv? WOOO! Seems like I've never been so happy for anyone who said that! Owww...guess what I did yesterday? So, I don't know if you know Kelsey and Bethany in 6A, but we went down to an outdoor pool, and i put on sunblock like a good-girl does. I must have not put on enough though because when i got home i looked like a cherry! Today its a little better, but my left cheek and nose are still red! It's acturally kinda funny...if you can just imagine! I wish you could have enjoyed the pool, but i know getting better is ALOT more important right now. I hope your lung and leg has a speedy recovering along with your self. I hope its not a ton of re-runs on TV and you might even find some new cool shows?!?

I'm sooo happy you are feeling better. I have a big card thing to give to you, but I don't know who to give it to so they can give it to you! Oh no! School is what it normally is like, so you haven't missed much. Kaley, Bethany, and I made a video(cheer) thing for you. At the end we didn't know what to say so sorry for the long pauses! OOPS:)!If you read Courtney's comment(below) we went swimming. So, to get to the point, I was wondering if you wanted to go swimming(once you're feeling better of course). Hope you have a fast recovery.
Best Wishes,
Kelsey A, 6A
